problem
The annual publication needed to synthesize a year’s worth of complex architectural discourse and diverse student projects into a single, readable narrative. It was crucial to balance heavy text with visual engagement to reflect the changing identity of the school.
solution
Serving as the layout and design lead, I shaped the magazine’s visual pacing through rigorous grid systems and typography to ensure a cohesive aesthetic. I also contributed original photography of design reviews and exhibitions, ensuring the imagery felt candid and aligned with the school's editorial vision rather than using stock or disparate student photos.

As the Layout and Design Lead, I was responsible for the visual pacing and typographic structure of the entire publication. I synthesized diverse content from nine different design studios into a single cohesive book, managing the grid systems and page hierarchies. I also acted as a contributing photographer, shooting events and reviews to ensure the publication featured original, candid imagery rather than relying solely on stock or varying student submissions.
