Endnotes: A Collection of Student Photography
A dual-role project encompassing the comprehensive promotional branding for a university photography exhibition and the public debut of my own analog photography series.

problem
The exhibition, "Endnotes: A Collection of Student Photography," needed a cohesive visual identity that could unify a diverse range of student perspectives and foster a sense of campus belonging without overshadowing the art itself. Simultaneously, as a featured artist, I needed to figure out how to best articulate the complex, atmospheric narrative of my own photography series exploring the emotional residue of abandoned religious spaces in the American South.
solution
For the event branding, I developed a striking promotional suite anchored by a bold, high-contrast design system that collaged disparate student work into dynamic, unified layouts. As a contributing artist, I successfully exhibited "pray for us sinners," a series that utilizes long exposures and controlled light to animate the decay of abandoned worship spaces, prompting viewers to examine the afterimage of belief.

Acting as both the graphic designer and a featured artist allowed me to shape the exhibition's narrative from multiple angles. On the design side, I produced the 11x17 promotional posters, digital social media square posts, and the comprehensive multi-page exhibition program. I utilized a stark red backdrop and fluid, organic masking to weave distinctly different photographic styles together into a unified brand identity that felt both collegiate and gallery-ready. As an artist, I exhibited my personal project, "pray for us sinners," which I shot entirely on medium-format film. For this series, I traveled to rural towns to document the degradation of modest wooden chapels, using light as an active force to complicate the emptiness of the spaces and reflect on the promises and failures inherent in organized religion.
